Night-Time Routine
At night before it gets too late, but late enough so that the stars are out, we all go outside. Breanna has this little back-and-forth she plays. She'll yell, "Geckos, gecko, wanna get the gecko!" Then once you lift her up and she gets a good look a them, she'll say, "Stars, stars, wanna get the stars!" Then by golly, we take her over and hold her way up high. She giggles and smiles and says, "I get the stars. Pretty stars!" She does this several times. It's amazing, and sweet, and beautiful all at once. Josh and I just hold her close and then we all exchange kisses. It's a lovely way to end the evening. Thankfully, it's made it easier to put her down to sleep as well. : )
Three Stretchy Frogs
So, we went to the BX the other day to purchase a television since our stuff hasn't gotten here yet and my husband is going bonkers watching a little portable dvd-player screen. It seems that every time I go to a store with Breanna I always get her a book. Not a great habit to get into, but definitely not the worst thing I can do for her. After all, it's a book! Not candy. : ) Anyway I found her this cute little book about three little frogs and inside the book it had three of these sort of sticky little stretchy frogs. She loved the book but would NOT touch those frogs. They felt funny. One day Josh was reading it to her and he comes to tell me that I have to see this. So he begins to read it again and she grabs one of the little frog hands and starts tapping it with the tip of her little finger. Josh says, "I couldn't figure out what she was doing at first, I was just so shocked that she touched the frogs. But then I heard her say, " High-five, high-five, high-five." Sure enough, as I watched, she started doing it again. Just a light tap with the tip of her tiny finger and she would whisper, "High-five, high-five." She stuns me with her cuteness every single day.
First Time Blogger
Well, hello. As you can see by the title, this would be my first time on such an online adventure. Josh just asked me what the difference would be between this and facebook and I really didn't have a concrete answer for him, exept the fact that we could go more in depth in our "Breanna stories" for the whole family. This way, when we talk to them on skype, I don't have to worry about forgetting to tell them about her amazing little experiences. Of course, they don't seem to little to me, but I'm her mommy and so everything she does to me is AMAZING. LOL I always said I wouldn't be one of those people who bored others with stories of my child, but I don't think of it as boring anymore. It captures just a little bit of her while she's still small and delicate. Before she grows up in the blink of an eye and goes out into the world to make her way. This is our special time. The next 18 or so years. The time we get to shape, help, love, and be amazed by her quirky and beautiful antics. So, though I may not be sure what the heck I'm doing, nor what else I will put on here, I imagine the bulk of my posts will be about Breanna and her daily changes/activities. This will also help me with her scrapbook. Speaking of which I cannot WAIT for my stuff to get here so I can finish her 1st year book, as she will be 2 soon here. LOL : ) I'm off for now. I hope this can be something rewarding and fulfilling.
